Illustrated Advertisement

Using only the Gradient Mesh Tool in Illustrator I created this three-dimensional version of a popular mug by YETI. The goal of this assignment was to create an illustrated version of a product to be used for multiple design applications, essentially giving the client the option to scale this piece larger if desired. 

This was a very time-consuming project and it required a lot of patience and determination to accurately represent this mug in a real way. It was important to capture the shadows and the range of values correctly to ensure it appeared three-dimensional and didn’t look flat. Once I was satisfied with the illustration,  I brought it into Adobe InDesign and created this advertisement to demonstrate the use of this illustrated piece. I created a very minimalist design with the intention of placing the primary focus on the mug. To complete the ad I included a clever slogan and information for consumers to find and purchase the product.
