This assignment was for an eight-page mini zine. The goal was to design a handmade book with a nostalgic theme and a color palette limited to 3-4 colors. The requirement was an 11x17 layout divided into eight separate 4.25” x 5.5” pieces, with the end product being a folded booklet. In addition to that, I needed to create a tabloid size poster on the back for people to see when unfolded.

I began this project researching all the different pop culture trends from the 90’s. I picked some of my childhood favorites to work with, as I had some creative flexibility with this project to personalize it. I chose a bright color palette and geometric shapes to use as a foundational style and began the illustration and layout process from there. Once I had the illustrations completed and the layout established, I added some information for context to finalize the booklet.
